There’s a lot of pressure on the WWE main roster to put on a show that’s equivalent to what wrestling fans saw at NXT Takeover: REvolution. Heading into WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, Chairs and Stairs 2014, here are our current Top 5 rankings and match-by-match breakdown of the card.

  1. tie Dolph Ziggler (previous – 1 tie)
  2. tie Seth Rollins (previous – 3 tie)
  3. John Cena (previous -1 tie)
  4. Erick Rowan (previous – unranked)
  5. Dean Ambrose (previous – unranked)
** Dropping out – Ryback, Bray Wyatt **

NIKKI BELLA vs. AJ LEE (DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH)
BR: Nikki took the strap from AJ just three weeks ago, and I don’t expect it to flip back. Although it’s certainly not inconceivable, rumours of AJ’s pending departure for WWE makes her winning less likely.
Winner: Nikki Bella

TR: I imagine Brie Bella will factor her way into this one to help her sister out and reclaim the Divas title. AJ has been the go-to women’s champion for the better part of two years, and it’s time to move on. That said, this would be a good time to grab a drink…
Winner: Nikki Bella

DEAN AMBROSE vs. BRAY WYATT (TLC MATCH)
BR: This match could steal the show. Ambrose in particular already has a reputation for wrestling with total disregard for his well-being, and when you introduce tables, ladders, and chairs into the equation. Is this is the blow-off to this feud, or will they carry on to Royal Rumble? If it’s the former, I like Ambrose’s odds.
Winner: Dean Ambrose

TR: Unlike previous classic TLC matches where high-fliers like Jeff Hardy, Edge — or even recently with Seth Rollins — have stolen the show with their death defying aerials, this one has all the makings of a more grinding and chaotic match with harder hits and maybe even a slice of torture. I expect Wyatt and Ambrose to pummel each other mercilessly, similar to what Brock Lesnar did to John Cena at SummerSlam but not as one sided. It will be gruelling, dangerous and pretty much awesome. Picking a winner is tough, so rather than going with any logic here I’m simply sticking with my boy.
Winner: Bray Wyatt

JOHN CENA vs. SETH ROLLINS (TABLES MATCH)
BR: The added stipulation of Cena putting his No. 1 contender status on the line casts some intrigue into the outcome of this one. I could see Rollins winning with the help of J&J security and/or Kane and/or (insert name here), allowing WWE to create a tournament to be the No. 1 – a tournament Cena ends up winning to take on Lesnar at Royal Rumble anyways. I could see the return of Orton to take out Rollins. Whatever the case, expect some shenanigans in this one.
Winner: Seth Rollins

TR: All signs are pointing to a Cena vs. Lesnar III match at the Royal Rumble and while I like Brian’s idea of a tournament for the #1 contender, I have zero confidence in WWE to actually do something fun and creative like that. Plus, Cena is the poster boy. Rollins has his MITB briefcase still so a loss here won’t completely bury him. I do like the idea of Orton returning, costing Rollins the match and setting those two up for a match at Rumble, while Cena moves on to Lesnar and the rest get thrown into the Rumble match itself.
Winner: John Cena

RYBACK vs. KANE (CHAIRS MATCH)
BR: This isn’t going to be pretty; hopefully WWE keeps it mercifully short. In his advancing age, Kane has transitioned into a upper-mid-carder quite capably and willingly putting over younger competitors. Ryback is hot, he’ll keep rolling.
Winner: Ryback

TR: So let me get this straight. Ryback returns to huge fanfair. Feed Me More Chants are as loud as they’ve ever been. Becomes the #1 sought after commodity for Survivor Series. And then gets to face Concessions Kane in a match no one could possibly give a shit about? Did I get that right?
Winner: Ryback

THE MIZ and DAMIEN MIZDOW vs. THE USOS (TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH)
BR: Speaking of hot, the tag team champs – Sandow especially – are on fire. There’s going to be some involvement from Naomi, Jimmy’s gonna lose his focus, and his team’s gonna lose. And I’m not just saying that because I’ve pretty much had my fill of the Usos, and really don’t want to see them hold the titles again.
Winner: The Miz and Damien Mizdow

TR: Can’t envision a way the Usos come out on top here. Naomi will most likely get involved, and tomfoolery will occur costing the Usos the match. It’s amazing how much I’ve soured on the Usos. Much like Cena, they’re child-friendly gimmick has worn thin. If I hear USO-crazy one more time I’m gonna go USO-homicidal all over the place!
Winner: The Miz and Damien Mizdow

ERICK ROWAN vs. THE BIG SHOW (STAIRS MATCH)
BR: See Ryback vs. Kane, except it probably won’t be as ugly. There’s absolutely no reason Rowan doesn’t go over here.
Winner: Erick Rowan

TR: Gotta love Big Red. No way his momentum gets stalled here.
Winner: Erick Rowan

LUKE HARPER vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER (INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP LADDER MATCH)
BR: The “Showoff” has been absolutely stealing the show for several weeks now. He can do amazing things with a ladder, but it will be interesting to see how Harper – who is quite athletic for a man his size – fares in this type of match. This could end up being great. WWE has made some really curious decisions – ones we haven’t seen coming – with the IC strap lately, having it change hands at a rapid rate. I’m going to guess that stops here. Ziggler doesn’t need the IC title to stay hot. In fact, he’s verging on the WWE title picture. It makes sense to have a successful IC defence and keep the belt on Rowan, continuing his push as a singles competitor.
Winner: Luke Harper

TR: I’m confident this match will be the best of the night. Ziggler has been riding a wave of momentum for months now and his previous engagements with Harper have been fantastic. We knew Harper was good when he was with the Wyatt Family but he’s surpassed even my expectations – I was floored when he first took the strap from Ziggler heading into Survivor Series. But in order for Ziggler to come full circle and become fully elevated into the WWE title picture he must be eligible for the Royal Rumble match (he’s my early prediction to win that, by the way) and he must be unencumbered.
Winner: Luke Harper

RUSEV vs. JACK SWAGGER (U.S TITLE MATCH)
BR: They’ve run out of patriots for the Anti-American heel to destroy, so they’re recycling his challengers now. That said, Swagger has been turning in some solid performances lately. But after everything WWE has done in push Rusev and keeping his record intact, do you really think it’s all going to come to an end at the hands of a guy he dispatched of in the earlier stages of his build?
Winner: Rusev

TR: Oh, this again. Man would I love to see Swagger come away with a win here, but there’s no way WWE is going to build Rusev up for this long only to have him drop a low mid-card re-match against Swagger. Rusev crush!
Winner: Rusev

THE NEW DAY vs. GOLD and STARDUST (KICKOFF MATCH)
BR: The New Day have been getting a nice push out of the gate, and that continues here.
Winner: The New Day
TR: Diddo.
